Having trained as a nurse in the UK, I have worked in both the UK and NZ. My career focused on Emergency Care, mainly working in emergency departments in public hospitals in both the UK and NZ. This is where I embarked on further training for the Nurse Practitioner qualification, which I have now held for the last 15 years.
Being a Nurse Practitioner enables me to independently provide a complete health care service to my patients, in the same way that a doctor does.
Having moved into urgent care in the community a few years ago, I have gained an additional love of looking after people within primary care. With my specialist interest in emergency and urgent care medicine, I have been providing exactly this service to the community and visitors to Motueka from Greenwood Health since 2017.
Away from work, the ability to bike, run, hike and tramp in the amazing part of NZ, plus basically sitting and chilling in this amazing place, gives me that perfect split of work and home life.
